365:215 - my love and promises.

365:215

This is my husband and I love him. He's mine and God brought us together for amazing things!
This night, the boys had gone to bed and we were admiring the dark blue sky painted with a beautiful promise from God. The rainbow was bold and  bright and I stood in amazement! "God's promise," I kept saying out loud.
As I reflected on God's promise to never again cut off all flesh by the waters of the flood, I began to think of all the other promises that He has given to us in His Word. Promises like,
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
and
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
and
"Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God." Romans 5:9
I could go on and on. The Bible is so rich and deep and full of God's promises to those who love Him.
Ok, back to my love. God has brought us together and has promised to continue working in us for His good pleasure and to complete the work that He has begun in us (Phil. 1:6). Marriage is not always a walk in the park, but I am thankful that God gave Joshua to me and me to Joshua to walk through this life together. I'm thankful for Joshua's heart to serve and love others. I'm thankful for his strong leadership and sense of conviction. I'm thankful for his tender-heartedness and his boldness for truth. I'm thankful for his love for family and raising strong men. I'm thankful that he is handy and that he is kind. I'm thankful that he is thoughtful. I'm thankful that he is a hard worker and that he provides well. I'm thankful for his promise to me to love me through thick and thin, sickness and health, submission and strong willededness (not a word, but it's obvious what I mean), happy times and stressful times. This guy really is the real deal. I'm blessed.

365:213 - laundry + treats

365:213

This week, our favorite landlords ever are on vacation and have asked us to watch their dog while they're away. In exchange for making sure Murphy is cared for, they've allowed us to do our laundry in their house! Already it has been such a blessing. Gabriel spit up all over me and I didn't almost cry thinking it would be over a week until I got my favorite top back ;) Not only have they allowed us to use their laundry, they also left us a goodie basket to enjoy while we do our laundry. It even included a magazine with a featured article on 56 tips when doing laundry! I thought that was quite fitting (and knowing them, they thought so too) :)

365:210 - boy mom

365:210

If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have sworn God had created me to be a "girl" mom. I grew up with just one sister. I love pink, sparkly things, tea time, and manicures. I hate bugs, dirt, sweat, and wrestling. Well, as they say, we plan, God laughs ;) He blessed us with THREE BOYS and boy has it been a crazy ride so far! I still hate bugs, I still hate dirt, and I definitely still hate wrestling. But…I LOVE LOVE LOVE my boys! They can drive me absolutely batty most days, but God is using them in great ways to grow me and change me. They bring us so much joy and laughter and I really am thankful for them. Anyway, I captured both boys playing with, what else, cars. It just reminded me how good God is in giving us exactly what we need to become more like Him. Samuel, Benjamin, and Gabriel, God is using you in amazing ways and loves you very much!

About me

My photo
I am a redeemed woman who seeks to reflect that redemption by living out my calling as a wife and momma! My primary purpose in life is to glorify God through obedience by helping my husband and loving others. Of course, I don't do this perfectly, so I daily rely on the work of Jesus to count me righteous and rest in His saving grace!
