365:263 - snoozing

365:263

Traveling with three little ones ages three and under is quite the task! This day we traveled from Louisville back to southern California. Here, Joshua is taking a little snooze with our Gabriel. Cute :)

365:262 - a cherished friend

365:262

On the last night in Louisville, we were given the opportunity to go to dinner with some of the men and women who are a part of ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors), and it just so happened that my dear friend, Zondra Scott was also there! Unfortunately, Dr. Scott was away teaching but it was so nice to catch up with Zondra for a bit since it had been so terribly long since I had seen her!

365:260 - SBTS evening

365:260

Ahhhh {huge, long sigh}! I love Southern seminary. I especially love their campus and the memories that we have made on this lawn. This night, we had dinner at the campus cafeteria and then played outside. The boys just loved the open field!

365:259 - kiddo shoot

365:259

Notice how I completely skipped day 258? Not going to even pretend I have it together enough to not skip a day here or there. ;)

This day I had the privilege of taking some shots of my friend, Krystle's, kiddos! I had fun running after them and catching their fun personalities on camera! Here are a couple from that shoot.

365:257 - butterfly

365:257

This is probably one of the most random posts I've ever done. My eyes happened to be opened to more nature-oriented things this day and I happened upon this little butterfly in the middle the parking lot.

365:256 - dad's birthday dinner

365:256

This night, we went to Tumbleweed right on the river. My dad loves to go there so we decided to take him there for his birthday dinner. The food was good, the view was good, and the company was good! So glad we had the whole family together (minus my brother-in-law Wes).

365:255 - big boy and big sister

365:255

Looking at this first picture, I'm amazed at how big and mature looking Benjamin has become. It blows my mind!!!
This second picture is one of the many I shot while we were at Cherokee park in Louisville. My sister and nephew came up to visit us while we were there and it was SO nice to get to spend time with them! We went to parks, ate out a lot, spent time together in the hotel. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to have this time.

365:254 - fun friends

365:254

One of the highlights of visiting Kentucky was seeing my old neighbor and friend, Krystle! When we lived in Louisville, we would have occasional girls' nights and eat Thai food and caramel corn! We didn't get thai but we definitely got our fill of candy corn and good conversation! I miss her already!!

365:250 - corn fields

365:250

On one of our drives, we stopped at a rest stop to stretch our legs and this one happened to be right next to a bunch of corn fields which happened to be a fun attraction for adventure-seeking little boys :)

365:248: typical and not-so-typical

365:248

What's typical is that our two older boys are either loving on each other and playing extremely well or literally at each other's throats. This typical day happened to be an "at the throat" kinda day!

What was not so typical about this day, though, was getting to spend time with some of our favorite friends! Rebekah and James brought their family up to Louisville to hang out with us for a few days! It was SUCH A TREAT! We grew to be such great friends our last year in Louisville and we miss them terribly now that we are in CA and they are in SC. We did a lot of eating and chatting and drinking coffee. It was also so fun for our boys to be together again! Can't wait until the next time we get to see them (which is hopefully soon!)

365:247 - travels

365:247

These are just a few of the emotions that come with traveling with 3 kiddos. We took a trip to the east coast for Joshua's work, and this was the first day of traveling...

365:246 - fun new friends

365:246

We love making new friends, especially when there are lots of things in common like cute kiddos and an emphatic love for Target. This is the case with Esther and her adorable boy Henry (and little girl Lucy). It seems that almost every time we take a trip to Target, we run into Esther. I love it because it makes an already fun trip turn into a blast!
This shot was taken when Esther and the kiddos stopped by our "cottage" to drop some things off and play for a bit! Excited to see these friendships grow :)

365:245 - leaves and little hands

365:245

This was just a normal day, but I happened to see a large drop of water resting on a leaf and thought I'd try and get creative ;-) I like when my eye catches small details in God's creation. I also snapped a shot of Samuel wrapping his yoyo around his hand. Again, the little details of God's creation seen in this little hand of my precious boy.

365:244 - a little man

365:244

This evening, we went outside to play as the sky was turning dark just to let the boys get some wiggles out. I captured this shot of Samuel and I'm not quite sure if he was distressed, concerned, or that I just caught him with an inquisitive expression, but I noticed he looks like such a little man here in this photo. I can't believe how big he is. 3.5 years old. Where has time gone?

365:243 - monkey's different

365:243

A while back, Joshua and I purchased an extra "Monkey" just in case something happened to Samuel's beloved Monkey like if we lost him, he got dropped in mud, etc. Recently, we noticed that Monkey was starting to look a little tattered and stinky (it's very hard to wash a stuffed animal when the best time to do laundry is during nap time or bedtime). So, we decided to pull out the brand new, clean, fluffy Monkey for Samuel to enjoy. Well, Samuel was totally onto us! He could tell the difference almost instantly and it was so heartbreaking! He kept saying things like, "I can't smell him!" "His eyes are different!" "His tail is too fluffy." Eventually, he was okay holding him but he definitely knew something was not right. That evening, we all took a trip to the laundromat and were able to get the old Monkey clean. Even after he was clean, Samuel was a little skeptical and it took some time to convince him that the Monkey we washed was truly his favorite Monkey. (He still doesn't know that there are, indeed, two Monkeys)

About me

My photo
I am a redeemed woman who seeks to reflect that redemption by living out my calling as a wife and momma! My primary purpose in life is to glorify God through obedience by helping my husband and loving others. Of course, I don't do this perfectly, so I daily rely on the work of Jesus to count me righteous and rest in His saving grace!
