365:110 - Resurrection Sunday!

365:110

HE IS RISEN!!!!
And today we got to celebrate that!! Death no longer has its sting and there is HOPE for new life for all who believe! What a beautiful morning we had reflecting on that and the power that God showed through raising His Son from the dead! Friday would have been a most sad day but because Jesus conquered the grave and beat death, we can CELEBRATE! Oh Happy Day!! :)

We started the day with Easter baskets of candy and stickers and sweet stuffed animals from our amazing landlords! The boys were so excited (almost as much as their mama) to see the little baskets waiting for them at the doorstep! We are so thankful for the Whipps and how they are always showing so much love towards us, especially our crazy boys :)

We then took some family shots and headed to church! We then came home for a quick nap and spent the afternoon with Pastor Steve and Judy for some food and fellowship! It was definitely a full day and I am ready for bed ;)

oh and then Benjamin got caught red-handed eating all the strawberries that were red (or even slightly red) in our garden. Little vermin.

Jesus Has Risen (Matthew 28)

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

The Guards’ Report

11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.

Thanksgiving & Tree trimming {in Photos}

In recent days, I have picked up our Canon Rebel T3i to start capturing some of the memories we are making in our little family! It has been so fun to experiment with different settings and to watch our little boys {especially Samuel} enjoy the world around him, discovering all the beauty!
Benjamin is 2.5 months old and growing like a WEED! He is over 16 lbs and we are falling more in love with him every day! He just started sleeping about 10-11 hours a night which has helped momma get back into the swing of "normal" life {whatever that is!}.
Samuel is also growing like a weed, but more in personality and disposition. It is EXCITING to see how inquisitive, adventurous, and sweet he is becoming! He loves giving hugs {especially to baby brother} and playing in the dirt. He is definitely boy boy boy!!! We absolutely love it. I'm just having to get used to all the rough-housing going on in this little apartment :)

Here are a couple pictures documenting our simple little life here in Louisville, KY {and some from our trip to FL for Thanksgiving}. Some are from the handy iPhone, while others are taken on the SLR :) Enjoy.

{yummm...cinnamon rolls!}

Samuel and Paxton hanging out on Thanksgiving morning while momma and aunt Jen watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while eating cinnamon rolls - tradition for as long as we can remember!
Aunt Jen LOVES her nephews!

It was such a glorious feast! I can't wait until next year!

Grandpa and Grandma can't get enough of their guys! {Benjamin, Paxton, & Samuel}

We had a little fellowship while we were home, at the Harsh's! Autumn does such a great job with the little ones. She takes after her momma! :)

The outfit that Summer got Benjamin! He's definitely not little, but he is my "little man"

Melissa joined us to pick out our Christmas tree. What a fun time!

Samuel had the job of holding down the tree on the drive home ;)

Joshua hanging the lights! {LOVE Christmas!}

The finished product!

Our little guy decorating cookies at the Bush's :)

We're going to miss Mel when she goes back to FL, but we're thankful for the time we had with her here :)

He is so sweet to his momma!

May I continue to seek the face of God as I seek to live a life reflecting my redemption!

Thanksgiving Recap - Photos

Since I've decided that this blog would be one of a melting pot of things (thoughts, prayers, personal, etc.), I thought a review of our Thanksgiving holiday would be a fun and light-hearted post! We had a wonderful time visiting family and friends, while enjoying yummy food and Thanksgiving festivities! Here are only a few highlights of our trip to Florida!

Samuel enjoying time with Grandma (I didn't get any on my phone of Samuel and Grandpa, but he enjoyed time with him as well!)

Spent lots of time with cousin Paxton.

Sweet fellowship with {precious} sisters in the Lord!

Joshua helping the Harsch kids build a fort!

Love this!

Thanksgiving morning!

He is so attentive to my reading!

Went to a movie with Joshua Thanksgiving night! I was anticipating great crowds and insisted we get to the theater at least 30 minutes early. This is what it looked like :)

Then, Joshua and I decided to be adventurous and check out Wal-Mart at midnight....HA

Taking a family walk to the park!

Samuel swinging at the All Children's Park - the same park I walked to with my parents and friends my entire childhood. Such sweet memories!

A surprise visit with my best friend from high school, Julie! It was nice to catch up and see her smiling face again. We both live in Kentucky but have to drive/fly 850 miles to see each other. It's worth every mile :)

{Precious} visit with Grandma Ruth! It wasn't the greatest of circumstances but it was so sweet to reminisce with her and for her to enjoy Samuel!

Completely zonked as we walked through the Atlanta Airport on our way home!

Thankful to God for memories made, words spoken, and lessons learned!

May God be glorified in our giving thanks for all that He had done and given! What a good God!

About me

My photo
I am a redeemed woman who seeks to reflect that redemption by living out my calling as a wife and momma! My primary purpose in life is to glorify God through obedience by helping my husband and loving others. Of course, I don't do this perfectly, so I daily rely on the work of Jesus to count me righteous and rest in His saving grace!
