365:191 - reading and visiting

365:191

This day, Gabriel showed lots of progress in his tummy time skills. It helped to have a book in front of him to focus on while he kept his head up!

Later in the day, our friends came over to help prep for the Sara Groves concert/dinner we would have the next day! We took a break to love on Gabriel for a bit :)

365:188 - surprise visits and yummy nutella

365:188

Today, Whitney, one of my closest friends from college came and surprised me at my front door! It was such a shock that I practically stood there staring at her with only a few words like, "shut up" coming from my mouth! ;) We had actually made plans to meet up at a park about 45 minutes away but after such a crazy weekend, I couldn't think of putting my boys through another long car ride and missed naps soI hesitantly cancelled. I was super sad but knew I needed to consider my boys' health. She was super understanding and even texted me to see how everyone was doing today. She also told me that she was going to a cuban restaurant which I then told her that I loved cuban food. She sneakily asked if I had any recommendations and I fell right in the trap and told her that I LOVE cuban sandwiches. So not only did she surprise me with herself, she also came bearing a wonderfully tasty cuban sandwich. It really was executed quite perfectly as I had JUST put the boys down for a nap when they came which afforded us some time to chat and enjoy each other's company! It was such a treat to have her and her sister-in-law, Denise, visit.

Later, I gave the boys a piece of bread with some nutella on it. Benjamin was fan.

Oh! And the last shot is of Samuel being an uber awesome big brother and helping Gabriel get the pacifier to stop crying. He loves his brother!

365:187 - SIP begins...

365:187

Joshua and I met during it... It has been a part of every summer of our marriage... And now Joshua is the Director of it: The MABC Summer Institute Program at the Master's College. Every summer, we are in some way a part of this intense biblical counseling program and this year is no exception. About a year ago, Joshua took on the position as Director and this is his first summer in the position. Yesterday was the welcome lunch which went pretty well! The more children we have, the harder it is for me to attend with Joshua, but our dear friends Jenny and Doug came to the rescue once again and made it possible for me the join him. Here's to three long weeks of busy meetings, fun fellowships, early mornings, and late nights! Blessings to all the students endeavoring to further the Kingdom through biblical counseling by going through the MABC program!

365:185 - Independence Day!

365:185

The 4th of July is always such a fun holiday to spend with lots of friends and family! We started the day off getting donuts (shame) and watching the Newhall Parade (which I didn't get good photos of). Then, after naps, we joined our small group for a festive, food-filled get-together where we fellowshipped, ate, and swam until sun-down! From there, we went to the top of the hill at Master's College and watched a little fireworks! It was so nice to spend time with family.

About me

My photo
I am a redeemed woman who seeks to reflect that redemption by living out my calling as a wife and momma! My primary purpose in life is to glorify God through obedience by helping my husband and loving others. Of course, I don't do this perfectly, so I daily rely on the work of Jesus to count me righteous and rest in His saving grace!
